9 hour drive - was it worth it?

It may have been a 4.5hr hour drive with everyone fighting over what songs should be played over the speaker, but watching Dean play his heart out the Redfern All Blacks made the whole trip worth it.

In many ways, it was a Mirri Mirri out of office reunion, as a number of the staff gathered at Tamworth for the annual NSW Koori Rugby League Knockout carnival held October 3 - 6.

Redfern All Blacks must have been a crowd favourites, as the field was completely engulfed with people cheering their hearts out. Unfortunately for Dean, his team went down to Wiradjuri Aboriginal Rivers (WAR), but it was still a great opportunity to catch up with family and friends from all over the state.

For the Mirri Mirri team, apart from continually reminding Dean we did a 9 hour round trip to watch him lose his first game, it was wonderful to catch up with the community and help celebrate the biggest Indigenous sporting event in Australia.
