From Classroom to Country

It’s days like this, we really really love what we do. After spending the first half of the day delivering cultural awareness training at their St Leonards Bathroom Life showroom, Reece staff joined us in the afternoon to participate in our Cammeraygal On-Country experience.

Although it was a warm day, we set off on a bush walk with enthusiasm and excitement, learning about the significance of Country and the importance of plants for First Nations people. Dean seems to have a particular passion for botany and revelled in sharing his knowledge of different plants we encountered along the way.

After a number of stops, some which included scenic pictures of the nearby river, we arrived at the final destination where participants completed a range of cultural activities including painting, weaving and spear throwing. We have never heard of spear throwing being likened to golf, but as Kyle said, if you slow it down, focus on the technique, the spear goes further.

Big thanks to Reece for spending the day with us and good luck with your First Nations initiatives.
